Big Apple Melting Pot – Lottery Updates – Let’s Do This

Here’s a summary of some of the latest affordable housing updates all gathered from the Curbed NY /Affordable Housing section. If you or someone you know can benefit from this information, please pass it along. Deadlines for lottery applications range from September 27th, to October 2nd to October 31st.

Crown Heights 33 Units  – September 27th Deadline:

Crown Heights has 33 Affordable Housing Units at 267 Rogers Ave., with an application deadline of September 27th.  The residence, designed by Think Architecture and Design, has 165 units, and has 1 to 3 Bedroom Units from $931 – $1,292 for persons and families with incomes ranging from 31,920 to 66,240. Of the 33 Affordable Housing Units, 27 are two bedroom apartments that go for $1,123 per month with incomes that range from $38,503 – $57,240. Note: This was once St. Ignatius Catholic Church. South Park Slope – Sunset Park/Greenwood Heights/South Park Slope –  19 Units October 2nd Deadline:

Designed by Nataliya Donskoy, this 91 unit residence located at 635 Fourth Ave., in the area of Sunset Park (considered also Greenwood Heights/South Park Slope) has 19 Affordable Housing units, from Studios to Four Bedrooms, from $813 to $1,016 for persons and families with incomes that range from $30,343 – $57,240. It offers quite a few amenities including a children’s room, fitness center, outdoor space and a community facility once complete.  The application deadline for this lottery is October 2nd. Bronx 22 Affordable Housing Units – October 31st Deadline:

Designed by Curtis and Ginsberg Architects and Developed by Bronx Pro Group LLC, this 30 unit residence located at 3365 Third Ave., in the Morrisania section of the Bronx, has 22 Affordable Housing units from Studios to Four Bedrooms, ranging from $813 to $1,016, for persons and families with incomes between $31,543 – $75,600 and additional One to Four Bedrooms for families that meet 100% of the Area Median Incomes which range from $45,497 to $126,000. The monthly rent for these units range from $1,270 to $1,969. 30% of the units have been set aside for formerly homeless families, this is an eco-friendly building and the third development Bronx Pro Group LLC  has developed in the area  as part of a mission to provide housing to individuals and families across a wide range of incomes.  A 9,500 sq. ft. community facility space is also being built. Downtown Brooklyn 74 Affordable Housing Units – October 31st Deadline:

Handel Architects , with Developers Benenson Capital Partners and Rose Associates, has created a 25 story residence also called “Hoyt & Horn”, located at 210 Livingston, on the corner of Hoyt & Livingston in Downtown Brooklyn. The residence has 368 units, including 74 Affordable Housing units with rents for Studios, One Bedrooms and Two Bedrooms ranging from $947 to $1,230 and eligible incomes from $34,355 to $57,240. 22 Studios, 34 One Bedrooms and 18 Two Bedrooms are available. Amenities include a fitness center, game room,  card operated laundry and business center, and there are outdoor terraces. The deadline for this application is October 31st.
